Feeling a bit unfocused

Sometimes you just have to unfocus a bit to see the world in a different light. Or at least a blurry light…

Favorite spot

This was one of our favorite spots on Kho Lipe. Shallow water, pretty close to the coral reef, not too many sea urchins and a lot of sand to dig in. What more could you want? :)

This photo is taken from the restaurant on top of the hill.

Sunset Silhouette

I’ve said it (and written it) many times before. The sunsets on Langkawi are awesome. We took many walks along the beach in the evenings, so I got plenty of opportunities to capture the setting sun.

Time for reflection

I was just arriving at the hotel, returning from my morning walk. It was still too early for the first bathers, so the water was almost completely still. It was enough to make a rather nice reflection of the morning sky at least. This is shot with an iPhone by the way.

The Colors of Langkawi

The sunsets on Langkawi were something special. The sky shifted in so many lovely colors. From vibrant orange to pastel pink and subtle blue. It was a wonderful sight!

Breakfast with a view

It was only after a few days that we found this breakfast restaurant on top of a hotel. It was quite nice to enjoy the first meal of the day with a view like this. It felt like a good way to start the day.

Wired up hearts

I can’t understand why tourists like to do this sort of thing; buying a padlock shaped like a heart and attach it to a wire for good fortune or something of the sort. But it seems to be quite popular…

Morning mist

The sun had already risen above the horizon, but the mist from last night was still lingering in the valleys and between the trees. We were just about to head out for some breakfast, but I needed to take this panorama first.

Morning by the lake

A few hours after sunrise, but still before the bathers would arrive, I was alone on the beach. The lake looked so peaceful then, before the arriving chaos. Well, the 40 second exposure helped to smooth out the water a bit…

Morning sun & morning mist

It was early morning in the middle of July. The family was still sleeping in our cottage so I sneaked out with my camera for a morning photowalk. (One of my habits apparently.) I found this view in a currently unused sheep pasture. I liked how the sunbeams lit up the morning mist.
(The ground was still very wet from the night dew, so after another hour or so I had to head back home to dry my shoes in the sun.)
